Understand dormant account policies and how to reactivate your account.
Quick Links
In compliance with FDIC guidelines, bank accounts that have had no transactions for 6 consecutive months are classified as inactive, and accounts dormant for 12 months are classified as dormant.
Debit transactions are restricted on dormant accounts to protect the account holder from unauthorised access and fraud.
Your funds are fully protected and remain in your account. No money is removed — only transaction access is restricted.
Reactivating your account is simple and can be done at any FCT Bank branch with a valid ID and SSN verification.
Bring your valid government-issued ID (NIN, passport, driver's licence) and your FCT Bank debit card.
Request and complete the Account Reactivation Form from the customer service officer.
Your SSN will be verified against your account details to confirm ownership.
Your account is reactivated immediately. Make at least one transaction to keep it active going forward.
